How to Make Scented Bath Salts

A warm, long soak in a bath can be a great way to retreat, relax and let the worries of the day fade away. To make a bath more enjoyable, add some bath salts. Bath salts detoxify the body, are a great way to soften skin and can ease the tension in sore muscles. Creating your own bath salts allow you to have an endless number of unique bath experiences. If you follow these steps, making your own bath salts is an easy process.

    Combine a cup of sea salt, Epsom salt, or baking soda with 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of essential oil. Stir well. This is enough for four or five baths. This combination can be used alone or as a base for adding various fragrances.

    Bath salts should be stored in glass jars or in a plastic bag. Add a scoop so the salts will be easy to add to your bath.
